Sr Engineer – SAP Developer

Protective Life is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP ABAP Developer with a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience to join our Application Development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and implementing complex ABAP applications, enhancements, and interfaces in the S/4HANA environment.
This role will provide technical leadership, coordinate closely with various technical and business resources to derive technical solutions that address business problems, and ensure that all development is conducted in such a manner as to comply with best practices and company standards.

Additional Experience/Skills that are required:

• Meaningful experience participating in at least one SAP S/4 HANA project
• SAP custom ABAP development experience including dialogue programming, SAP Forms/SAP Script, ALV reporting, and use of function modules, RFCs, Web Services (API) and has worked on RICEFW developments
• Experience creating and maintaining CDS views and AMDPs
• Programming experience with Interface development, BAPIs, object-oriented ABAP, User exits, Business Add-Ins and Enhancement exits, Module Pool (on-line dialog)
• Expertise in troubleshooting the integration suite to backend SAP systems, technical object performance tuning, interface and alert tuning, alert monitoring
• Experience in configuration of synchronous and asynchronous interfaces AIF (Application Interface Framework)
• Produce detailed technical design documentation ensuring that all functional requirements are addressed
• Ensure ABAP code is developed in adherence to standards established by Protective Life
• Develop, document and execute test plans
• Extensive experience in debugging, performance tuning, Analysis and System monitoring
• Experience with SAP upgrade projects working through SPDD, SPAU and SPAU_ENHANCE.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey information in a profession manner to other technical and business staff
• General understanding of accounting principles in relation to ERP software
• BS computer science or related field, MS a plus

Additional Experience/Skills that are desired:

• SQL server, including SQL server Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Control-M scheduling
• Agile Methodology
• Fiori and Gateway development
• Experience in SAP Workflow and SAP Workflow troubleshooting
• Experience with BTP, in particular Integration Suite. BPA and Build Code experience
• Experience with BRF+
• Experience with vals/subs (GGB1, GGB0)
