Senior Estimator - Division 8 (Commercial Doors, Frames & Hardware)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in Division 8 commercial doors, frames, and hardware to join an established team.

This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed estimates for commercial door and hardware projects, reviewing construction documents, performing material takeoffs, and developing competitive project bids.

The ideal candidate has extensive Division 8 estimating experience, is highly proficient with Comsense, and can independently manage the estimating process from initial plan review through final bid submission.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to join a solid team with an active pipeline of projects and the flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify Division 8 project requirements.

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial doors, frames, hardware, and related openings.

• Perform accurate material takeoffs, hardware scheduling, and cost analysis.

• Utilize Comsense to develop estimates, build project quotes, and manage estimating information.

• Interpret door and hardware schedules, specifications, and architectural details.

• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential cost-saving opportunities.

• Solicit and evaluate supplier pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.

• Coordinate with vendors, general contractors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.

• Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within established deadlines.

• Manage multiple projects and bid opportunities simultaneously.

• Assist with estimating strategy and provide technical guidance to support the broader team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience estimating Division 8 commercial doors, frames, and hardware.

• Strong proficiency with Comsense estimating software.

• Thorough understanding of commercial door and hardware products, applications, and specifications.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and door hardware schedules.

• Experience with material takeoffs, hardware sets, pricing, and project bidding.

• Strong knowledge of industry manufacturers, suppliers, and product applications.

• Ability to independently manage the estimating process from start to finish.

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
