Sr. Financial Analyst, Ring and Blink PL Finance
Description
Working with limited guidance, the role applies business and financial principles to decision-making, understands the trade-offs behind the numbers, and proactively audits its own work to ensure reporting accuracy during OP1, OP2, 3YF, Quarterly Guidance, the monthly Latest Estimate, and actuals/MEC reviews.
Key job responsibilities
*Create and own the forecasting and MEC calendars for the business partners: build the cycle timelines (OP1, OP2, 3YF, Quarterly Guidance, monthly Latest Estimate, and month-end close), publish key dates and input deadlines to the two brand leads and cross-functional partners, and drive the cadence so submissions, reviews, and sign-offs land on time.
*Consolidate Hardware GP across both brands: partner with multiple Finance managers across both brands to aggregate their cycle inputs — net units, net revenue, COGS/BOM, and hardware gross profit — and reconcile them into one integrated view across devices and accessories, NA and International.
*Compile the monthly Latest Estimate (LE): gather and validate the brand leads' submissions against the LE templates and timeline, bridge LE-over-LE and LE-vs-guidance variances, and prepare the review-ready consolidated GP financials each cycle, seeking guidance from team leaders where needed.
*Own the inventory valuation and reserve calculations feeding the consolidated GP position:
Inventory impairment — quantify impairment on at-risk hardware inventory.
Lower of Cost or Market (LCM) — calculate LCM reserves where carrying cost exceeds net realizable value, applying the methodology agreed with Accounting.
Excess & Obsolete (E&O) — compute E&O reserves across devices and accessories using EOL timing, demand/forecast coverage, and sell-through assumptions.
Partner with Accounting on sign-off and carry the reserve positions into the consolidated GP and MEC.
*Serve as the POC for system data integrity: act as the primary contact for the accuracy and consistency of the Finance data sources that feed consolidation and reserves (e.g., TM1/Vista/Prophecy, TCPU/BOM, DIDM, inventory and demand data) — identifying and correcting data discrepancies, validating flows across systems, and escalating more complex issues to the right owners.
*Support month-end close (MEC) consolidation for Hardware GP across both brands — units, revenue, COGS, promotions/MDF, and the impairment/LCM/E&O reserves — delivering accurate, on-time reporting and auditing for discrepancies.
*Partner with cross-functional teams — Category, Supply Chain, Operations, Accounting, and FinTech — to validate COGS/BOM assumptions, reserve inputs, inventory positions, and system data, and to explain variance drivers.
*Optimize and document the consolidation and reserve processes: improve and automate recurring compilation steps, maintain SOPs and reconciliation logic, and contribute to continuous-improvement efforts that reduce defects.
*Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, adjusting style to the audience with support, and summarizing GP and reserve movements for the brand leads, the Finance team, and business partners.
