Summary

Senior Full Stack Engineer builds and maintains cloud-based web apps, APIs, and databases for a Baltimore-based health-consulting firm, using AWS, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD pipelines.

Index Analytics, LLC, is a rapidly growing, Baltimore-based small business providing health-related consulting services to the federal government. At the center of our company culture is a commitment to instilling a dynamic and employee-friendly place to work. We place a priority on promoting a supportive and collegial team environment and enhancing staff experience through career development and educational opportunities.

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based web applications across the front end, back end, and database layers. Working closely with engineers, product stakeholders, and cross-functional partners, this person will translate business requirements into scalable, well-tested, user-focused features; build and integrate RESTful APIs; and implement efficient data access patterns with relational databases.

The engineer will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including solution design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support, with an emphasis on writing clean, maintainable code and following security and privacy best practices. This position also involves supporting AWS deployments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code updates, and monitoring/troubleshooting using standard tooling, while taking increasing ownership of delivery and operational reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack web applications across the front end, back end, and database layers.
  • Contribute independently across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs to enable integration between applications and enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to deploy, support, and enhance applications in AWS.
  • Implement application features that read/write data to relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/Aurora) and integrate with AWS services (e.g., S3, Secrets Manager, SSM) using established architectural patterns.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application and integration issues in development and production environments; document root cause and remediation steps.
  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates for infrastructure, application, and database changes that are promoted through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) by updating build steps, reviewing logs, and resolving failed deployments.
  • Follow CMS security, privacy, and DevSecOps requirements by implementing secure coding practices and completing required documentation and reviews.
  • Triage operational issues using standard monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Splunk) and drive issues through resolution in collaboration with the broader team.
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities by applying patches and updates to application dependencies and supporting infrastructure in a timely manner.
