Sr. Lead Piping Designer

Compensation: $60 - $70 per hour

We are partnering with our client to find a Lead Piping Designer who will be responsible for overseeing the design, specification, and technical direction of piping systems for industrial projects. You will ensure that piping layouts, materials, and components meet engineering standards, safety requirements, and project objectives. This position is in Pittsburgh.

Required:

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience delivering projects utilizing E3D and/or CADWorx and coordinating an integrated design using coordination tools such as NavisWorks.
• 10 years plus working in the architectural/engineering (A/E) industry supporting projects in the specialty chemicals, heavy industrial, and manufacturing industries.
• Ability to travel as this position may require individuals to spend time onsite with customers.
• Ability/Willingness to climb to elevated platforms via plant stairs and ladders at client sites.
• Good communicator, leader and team player.
• Good technical writing ability.
• Highly organized.
• Must show ownership and follow-through on assigned projects.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prior experience with E3D and/or CADWorx Plant Professional is a plus.
• Evaluate the scope of work using P&ID's and specifications to design piping systems while adhering to plant design standards.
• Support work delivered from multiple office locations.
• Direct project workflow of engineers, designers and drafters to ensure project completion.
• Interact and collaborate with clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and work with Discipline Manager and Project Managers to develop contingency plans.
• Participate in services during construction, including field verification, site observations reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews.

Pay: $60/hr. to $70/hr.
