Essential Functions of the Job:

Strategic Business Partnering & OPEX Management

• Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner for designated functions within the Guangzhou site, developing a strong understanding of business activities, operational priorities and key cost drivers.
• Lead the annual budget, forecast and long-range planning processes for assigned functions.
• Monitor actual spending against budget and forecast, identify key variances and underlying business drivers, and provide timely financial insights to functional leaders.
• Partner with budget owners to improve cost visibility, spending discipline and forecast accuracy.
• Provide financial analysis and scenario modeling to support operational and management decisions.
• Coordinate month-end and quarter-end activities related to assigned OPEX areas, including accruals, expense review, variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities and proactively recommend actions to improve financial performance.

Site Inventory Financial Management

• Own and coordinate the financial management of inventory across the Guangzhou site, partnering closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and Accounting teams.

• Monitor inventory balances, movements and key inventory-related financial metrics, and provide management with visibility into inventory trends and financial exposure.

• Support inventory planning and financial analysis, including inventory build-up, consumption and inventory-related working capital impacts.

• Coordinate and review inventory provisions, write-offs, adjustments and other inventory-related accounting activities in accordance with applicable accounting policies and internal controls.

• Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities and follow up on significant inventory discrepancies from a Finance perspective.

• Partner with relevant stakeholders to identify slow-moving, excess or obsolete inventory risks and support appropriate financial assessment and actions.

• Drive continuous improvement in inventory reporting, reconciliation and financial controls.

Fixed Asset & CAPEX Financial Management

• Manage the financial aspects of the Guangzhou site's fixed asset portfolio, ensuring appropriate financial oversight throughout the asset lifecycle.

• Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Accounting and project owners to monitor asset acquisition, capitalization, transfer, depreciation and retirement.

• Review construction in Progress (CIP) and support timely and appropriate capitalization when assets are ready for their intended use.

• Support periodic fixed asset verification and reconciliation and investigate material discrepancies.

• Monitor asset disposals, transfers, impairments and write-offs and ensure appropriate financial documentation and approvals.

• Maintain visibility into site fixed asset balances and provide financial analysis to support asset management and investment decisions.

• Strengthen financial controls around fixed assets and support internal and external audit requirements.

Other Support

• Actively participate in various financial initiatives, leveraging financial expertise to optimize processes, systems and reporting capabilities.

• Coordinate with cross-functions to participate in financial audit on Guangzhou manufacturing site per request.

Computer Skills:

• Excellent computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience using SAP and EPM tools (e.g., TM1, Hyperion, Adaptive, etc)

Other Qualifications:

Experience Required:

• 8+ years of accounting/financial experience with at least 5 plus years of relevant finance experience in supporting manufacturing organizations. Experience in cost accounting is required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA preferred
• Strong financial control, reporting and analytical skills with demonstrated business impact in previous roles
• Significant experience in inventory and product cost accounting within pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, influencing decision-making across diverse teams and organizational levels.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness to assume responsibility, take ownership their work and intelligently challenge the status quo
