Sr Manager of Field Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Manager of Field Operations based in United States.

The Sr Manager of Field Operations will lead and develop a team of Clinical Specialists supporting North American clinical trial sites in a highly specialized structural heart environment. This role combines strategic people leadership with hands-on clinical expertise to ensure safe, consistent, and protocol-compliant trial execution. You will oversee field performance, procedural case coverage, site engagement, team capability, and operational readiness across multiple locations. Working closely with Clinical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, R&D, Quality, and other partners, you will translate field insights into stronger execution and improved site performance. The role requires deep TAVR expertise, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in high-acuity settings. It offers the opportunity to directly contribute to the advancement of innovative therapies designed to improve outcomes for patients with aortic stenosis.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Clinical Specialists, establishing clear expectations around clinical performance, technical competence, accountability, procedural support, and consistent field execution while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
• Oversee onboarding, certification, competency assessment, and ongoing development for Clinical Specialists, including training in procedural support, CT and echocardiographic imaging, instructions for use, clinical protocols, and field execution standards.
• Conduct field visits and procedural case observations to evaluate performance, provide targeted coaching, identify development needs, and ensure team members maintain a high level of clinical and operational readiness.
• Support workforce planning, case coverage, resource allocation, and team capacity across North American clinical trial sites, balancing strategic staffing needs with changing clinical and operational priorities.
• Oversee field clinical support across assigned trial sites, promoting consistent procedural practices, strong site relationships, protocol compliance, and effective execution of clinical trial activities.
• Partner with Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs to monitor site activity, screening and enrollment progress, protocol adherence, documentation, readiness, and field-related operational requirements.
• Support site activation, investigator engagement, training, and readiness activities, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure sites are appropriately prepared for trial execution.
• Manage field and site escalations by ensuring timely communication, effective follow-through, appropriate stakeholder engagement, and practical resolution of clinical or operational issues.
• Provide hands-on procedural case coverage when clinical or business needs require it, maintaining an active connection to field execution and the realities faced by clinical teams and trial sites.
• Partner with Field Operations leadership to develop field strategies, resource plans, site engagement approaches, and operating practices that strengthen clinical execution and support trial objectives.
• Serve as a key liaison between the field organization and internal stakeholders, communicating clinical observations, product feedback, site needs, competitive insights, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Clinical Affairs on investigator training, clinical education, and communication of clinical evidence, helping ensure field teams and investigators have the knowledge required for effective procedural support.
• Represent Field Operations in trial governance meetings, regional operating reviews, and cross-functional initiatives, providing field perspective and helping align teams around clinical and operational priorities.
• Establish, monitor, and report meaningful measures of case coverage, site engagement, field performance, and Clinical Specialist competency, using data and field insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure field activities comply with applicable clinical trial protocols, regulatory requirements, quality procedures, documentation standards, and relevant operational policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve field processes, tools, communication, training, and operating efficiency while supporting organizational readiness and future clinical and commercial priorities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, combined with substantial experience in structural heart or interventional cardiology environments.
• 8+ years of relevant structural heart or interventional cardiology experience, including significant hands-on experience supporting TAVR procedures in cath lab and/or hybrid operating room environments.
• Proven people-management experience with responsibility for coaching, performance management, competency development, team leadership, and building high-performing clinical or field-based teams.
• Deep expertise in TAVR procedural support, including strong knowledge of patient evaluation, procedural planning, CT and echocardiographic imaging, device use, and clinical trial execution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in high-acuity clinical environments while maintaining strong clinical judgment, composure, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety and procedural quality.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial operations and the ability to work effectively with trial sites, investigators, clinical operations teams, regulatory stakeholders, and other cross-functional partners.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build trust with clinical teams, investigators, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple clinical sites and team members while maintaining consistent standards of execution, responsiveness, and accountability.
• Strategic mindset combined with a willingness to remain actively involved in field execution, including providing direct procedural support when required.
• Strong adaptability and sound judgment, with the ability to respond effectively to changing site needs, clinical circumstances, operational challenges, and business priorities.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive and a passion for innovation in patient care, with the ability to contribute to a growing organization and evolving clinical environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%, including overnight travel, for procedural case support, site engagement, field team oversight, internal meetings, and other business needs.
