Sr. Manager Record To Report– Retail Accounting (CR)
Abour the role
Walmart EBS Latam is seeking a Sr. Manager – Retail Accounting to join our Record to Report (R2R) team. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all retail accounting processes, ensuring the accurate and compliant daily and monthly accounting close for Walmart stores across all formats and banners in Latin America. The Sr. Manager will act as a strategic liaison between store operations, Market teams, and Shared Services, driving operational excellence, robust controls, and continuous improvement initiatives within the R2R function.
What you´ll do:
- Oversee and manage all retail accounting processes, including daily and monthly accounting close activities for Walmart stores across all formats/banners, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and accurate reflection in the general ledger.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on retail accounting, providing guidance on complex transactions and ensuring alignment with corporate accounting standards.
- Coordinate with store operations, regional teams, and Shared Services to resolve discrepancies, optimize transaction flows, and support business growth.
- Monitor and measure process performance through KPIs, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and operational risks.
- Lead initiatives for process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement, including the integration of new store formats or banners into R2R processes.
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation, SOPs, and user guides for retail accounting activities.
- Support process migrations, controls, and regulatory compliance related to retail accounting transactions.
- Develop and deliver training materials to ensure proper adoption and compliance of retail accounting processes across the organization.
- Provide operational and consultative support to resolve issues and optimize Record to Report processes for retail accounting.
What you´ll bring
- Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, financial operations, or Record to Report processes, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven expertise in retail accounting, including daily and monthly close processes for multi-format/multi-banner retail operations.
- Advanced knowledge of process management tools, automation, and data analysis (preferably with ERP, BPM platforms).
- Advanced & Fluent in English.
- Preferred certifications: CPA, PMP, Scrum Product Owner, Scrum Master.
- Clear, Concise & Compelling communication.
- Competencies in problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork, and organization.
- Results-oriented, continuous improvement mindset, and deadline-driven.
