This role is ideal for an experienced quality engineering professional who thrives in complex, highly integrated environments. You will coordinate and execute comprehensive testing across system integration, user acceptance, end-to-end, and regression phases. Working across multiple teams and vendors, you will help ensure that critical healthcare applications meet functional, technical, and regulatory expectations. The position combines hands-on testing with test planning, risk assessment, defect management, and stakeholder coordination. You will also contribute to test strategy, reporting, and mentoring junior testing professionals. Your work will directly support the reliability and quality of large-scale healthcare technology systems.

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate SIT, UAT, end-to-end, and regression testing activities across multiple teams, systems, vendors, and project workstreams.
  • Develop, review, execute, and maintain comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and supporting documentation.
  • Assess test coverage, identify testing risks and dependencies, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Plan and coordinate test data requirements for complex end-to-end testing scenarios.
  • Execute manual testing for complex business processes involving multiple assessments, workflows, integrations, and system interfaces.
  • Manage the full defect lifecycle by identifying, documenting, prioritizing, tracking, and driving defects through resolution.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and ensure test execution remains aligned with functional and business requirements.
  • Analyze test results and system behavior to identify potential issues, gaps, and areas requiring additional validation.
  • Support testing involving databases, APIs, interfaces, batch processes, and other integrated systems.
  • Track testing progress and provide clear status reports, execution metrics, risks, dependencies, and issue updates to project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with business analysts, developers, product teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve testing issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior testers while supporting effective test planning and execution practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, processes, documentation, and quality practices.
  • Support large-scale healthcare technology initiatives where accuracy, reliability, and data privacy are critical.
  • Requirements

    • 5–10 years of experience as a Tester, Senior Tester, Test Lead, or in a closely related quality assurance role.
    • At least 5 years of hands-on testing experience within large-scale systems or portfolios, preferably involving U.S. healthcare payer environments with complex integrations.
    • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating SIT, UAT, end-to-end, and regression testing across multiple teams and vendors.
    • Strong knowledge of MMIS/MES, healthcare payer platforms, Medicaid and Medicare systems, member eligibility, benefits assessment, and benefits determination.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy requirements.
    • Proven experience creating, reviewing, and executing SIT and UAT test scenarios and test cases.
    • Strong understanding of complex business processes involving multiple assessments, workflows, and system integrations.
    • Ability to define and coordinate test data requirements for end-to-end testing.
    • Solid understanding of test planning, execution, defect management, requirements traceability matrices, and testing best practices.
    • Experience using defect and test management tools such as Jira, Jama, Zephyr, qTest, ALM/Quality Center, and Azure DevOps.
    • Working knowledge of databases and the ability to write SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
    • Understanding of APIs, interfaces, batch processing, and integration testing concepts.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
    • Ability to assess requirements, evaluate test coverage, identify risks and dependencies, and communicate findings clearly.
    • Ability to mentor junior testers and support test planning, execution tracking, and status reporting.
    • Experience supporting State Medicaid modernization or MMIS programs is preferred.
    • Experience working with government or public-sector healthcare programs is a plus.
