Your Opportunity

The successful candidate will have experience in mechanical engineering HVAC, piping design (steam/condensate, cooling water, compressed air, natural gas), facility plumbing systems (sanitary & stormwater drains, potable water, safety showers), refrigeration, and fire protection. Experience should include diverse projects such as commercial (office, retail, education, warehouse), municipal (water/wastewater plants, lift stations, fire stations, public works) and recreational facilities (aquatic, ice arenas, outdoor sports complexes). Experience in sustainability or commissioning a plus.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Apply strong mechanical engineering skills, experience, and knowledge to the design and oversight of the design for buildings projects.
• Design mechanical building, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for facilities and the built environment.
• Prepare technical specifications and documents for bidding and construction.
• Prepare studies, proposals, and engineering estimates.
• Prepares and revises documentation in various mechanical phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
• Conduct field surveys of existing conditions of building spaces.
• Prepare field reports and punch lists.
• Supervise engineers and technicians on assigned work. Manage the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for projects. As a registered professional engineer, seal and sign required documentation produced by you and your team.
• Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers, including engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports within the mechanical team.
• Direct technical services personnel in the proper execution of drawings for mechanical systems. Examines mechanical drawings for completeness, detail, and accuracy as per reviewer.
• Coordinate projects with other disciplines and construction trades in accordance with approved scope of project.
• Meet technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary, and client service objectives for each project.
• Nurtures existing client relationships and proactively pursues opportunities for new business.
• Maintain and expands current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types, and continually strengths skills.
• Provide strong technical mentorship to junior mechanical engineers and technical staff.
