(Sr.) MES & Smart Manufacturing Director
Description
We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced (Senior) Global MES & Smart Manufacturing Director to lead the group's smart manufacturing roadmap, design scalable global templates, and oversee multi-site MES deployments. In this critical role, you will bridge the gap between IT and OT systems—seamlessly integrating ERP, PLM, WMS, and underlying shop-floor equipment—to optimize global production operational efficiency based on ISA-95 standards. You will establish a robust 7x24 "Follow-the-Sun" support framework, manage strategic vendor partnerships, and empower cross-border engineering teams to ensure high-availability manufacturing operations and accelerate our digital transformation journey.
1. MES Strategic Planning & Architecture Governance
- Lead the group's smart manufacturing and MES system roadmap, establishing governance mechanisms for global templates and local edge deployments.
- Coordinate architectural integration between MES and other systems (ERP, PLM, WMS) as well as underlying OT equipment (EAP/PLC), optimizing overall data flow and production operational efficiency based on ISA-95 standards.
2.Multi-Site Project Delivery & Resource Management
- Oversee cross-border/multi-site MES deployment projects, ensuring high-quality delivery on time and within budget.
- Evaluate team capacity and project overlap periods, flexibly dispatching internal engineers and external consultants to build a resilient global backup mechanism.
3. 7x24 High Availability Operations & Global Service Framework
- Build a cross-time-zone "Follow-the-Sun" support model or 7x24 On-Call teams alongside a tiered (L1/L2/L3) incident escalation matrix to ensure immediate resolution and fast recovery from unplanned downtime.
- Implement ITIL / SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) best practices, standardizing Change Management and Post-Mortem review processes to minimize the impact of system changes on production lines.
4. Vendor & Scope Governance
- Manage delivery quality and service contracts with MES OEMs and third-party vendors, defining and supervising 7x24 operational Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Clearly delineate project and operations scope and responsibilities, effectively mitigating risks related to scope creep and external dependencies.
5. Team Leadership & Executive Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead cross-border MES teams, establishing technical training programs, global rotation/shift mechanisms, and talent pipelines.
- Regularly report project progress, operational KPIs, resource bottlenecks, and risk mitigation strategies to the Steering Committee and executive leadership.
