This is a Key Personnel role on a DoD health care mission; the Government must pre-approve any replacement or substitution of the individual filling this position.

The Senior Network Engineer serves as the premier network subject matter expert for the Europe region (i.e. Germany, Italy), resolving complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues, advising Government staff and contractor teams on network design and deployment, and maintaining network security posture across assigned DHA facilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve complex LAN/WLAN/WAN network problems; research network-level issues using network management tools (e.g., Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, Ansible).
  • Provide high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of LAN/WLAN/WAN communication equipment across assigned DHA facilities.

  • Advise and consult with Government staff, agencies, and other contractor representatives on network design, implementation, deployment, and management.
  • Establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and intrusion detection systems (IDS) to maintain the LAN/WLAN-WAN security barrier.
  • Interpret and apply an understanding of Management Information Blocks (MIB) and MRTG to plan for high performance and minimal downtime.
  • Document network changes via tickets, written standards, and coordination with the NetMOD Network Standards Team.
  • Develop and recommend policies, procedures, and best-practice standards for LAN/WLAN/WAN operations, access, and compliance with DoD and DHA objectives.
  • Communicate proactively with key customers on the status of network support requests.
  • Lead or participate in additional projects and support efforts as needed; may be required to perform functions of subordinate labor categories when traveling to other contract sites.

Work Schedule:

Standard duty hours are 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday (Central Time), excluding federal holidays, with participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response as required by contract SLAs.
