Sr PCB Layout Engineer
Summary
Design and optimize high-density PCB layouts using Altium, collaborating with engineers to ensure manufacturability and signal integrity from concept to production.
Job Summary:
Create and modify PCB Designs and detailed CAD drawings with keen attention to DFM/DFA/DFT requirements. Contribute as an individual as well as collaborate closely with RF Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Test Development Engineers to create designs from concept to manufacturing and production.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Independently execute end-to-end PCB design primarily using Altium Software, including schematic capture, complex HDI PCB layout, from concept to fabrication, assembly, and production.
- Conduct and facilitate design reviews, to ensure accuracy and compliance of schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts, while managing engineering changes, and ensuring full traceability of design revisions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including hardware, mechanical, procurement, and manufacturing teams, to optimize product performance, signal and power integrity, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) requirements.
- Prepare and manage complete design documentation packages, including fabrication and assembly drawings, Gerber files, BOMs, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring timely release and smooth transition into manufacturing.
Requirements:
- BSE Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with at least 6 years or more experience in similar capacity
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as Altium (main) and Allegro for multi-site schematic entry and multi-layer high-density boards with heavy experience on ATE multisite load boards and probe cards
- Proficient in high density design (HDI) for high count fine pitch BGA packages (0.4mm) routing & RF High-frequency layout design
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, effectively manage schedules and expectations, and consistently deliver high-quality designs within aggressive timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills for collaborative design review and vendor interaction
- Strong expertise in Design for Excellence (DFx) methodologies, including DFM, DFA, DFT, and DFR, and PCB manufacturing processes
- Ideal candidate with experience in Signal Integrity Analysis (by Altium) & Power Analyzer by Keysight is a big plus
