Sr Procurement Analyst
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Procurement Analyst based in India.
As a Sr Procurement Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting strategic sourcing, procurement operations, and supplier engagement across a range of business categories. You will analyze spend, market intelligence, buying patterns, and sourcing opportunities to help stakeholders make informed procurement decisions. The role combines analytical expertise with hands-on responsibility for sourcing projects, competitive bidding, negotiations, and tender management. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external clients, agencies, suppliers, legal teams, and category leaders. Your ability to manage multiple projects, improve processes, and maintain strong documentation will be essential to delivering efficient and compliant outcomes. This is a high-visibility role suited to a self-starter who enjoys solving problems, influencing stakeholders, and driving procurement excellence.
Accountabilities:
- Analyze spend data, category profiles, market intelligence, and sourcing opportunities to develop effective category and sourcing strategies.
- Identify appropriate sourcing levers, analyze product and service costs, support structured supplier negotiations, and contribute to favorable commercial outcomes.
- Manage sourcing and procurement activities end to end, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, tendering projects, spot buys, and tactical sourcing initiatives.
- Understand internal and external stakeholder requirements and develop appropriate approaches, timelines, and work plans to deliver agreed objectives.
- Manage assigned supplier engagements in collaboration with broader category teams and ensure procurement activities remain aligned with business requirements.
- Analyze buying patterns and purchasing volumes to determine the most appropriate procurement channels, including catalogs, P-Cards, purchase orders, and other available methods.
- Provide administrative and operational support throughout sourcing projects while maintaining process integrity, audit trails, and complete documentation.
- Collect and track stakeholder requests, communicate project progress, and provide timely, professional responses to procurement-related queries.
- Support the development, enhancement, and automation of procurement and strategic sourcing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage workloads and competing priorities across a high volume of projects, escalating risks, issues, and progress to leadership when appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external clients, agencies, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to achieve sourcing and procurement objectives.
- Ensure contracts, statutory requirements, sustainability considerations, and other relevant procurement documentation are appropriately addressed in coordination with the relevant teams.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in sourcing analytics, procurement, or strategic sourcing.
- Demonstrated experience managing competitive bidding processes, including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, as well as supplier negotiations and commercial discussions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to gather and interpret data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable procurement insights.
- Experience in categories such as MRO, IT, Marketing, or Logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and project plans and collaborate effectively with stakeholder teams.
- Experience working with reputable Source-to-Contract platforms such as Coupa, Scanmarket, Ariba, or Jaggaer is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with experience using enterprise applications such as SAP.
- Experience with Power BI is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to improve and automate sourcing and procurement processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the credibility and confidence to influence senior internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ability to motivate, organize, and support team members while contributing effectively to cross-functional initiatives.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision while managing a large volume of concurrent projects.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a client-focused approach.
- Willingness to work US shift hours and support stakeholders across different locations and time zones.
- Willingness to work from the Mumbai office when not working onsite at a client location.
