Sr. Program Manager, Application Services
Role Purpose
The Portfolio Manager ensures the successful governance of projects, financials, and cost allocations for the Application Services technology portfolio.
Key Accountabilities
- Govern the portfolio of Application Services initiatives, ensuring accurate budgets, forecasts, schedules, and health are represented.
- Assign resources work and perform resource planning and allocations.
- Partner with project managers in the portfolio to provide support and guidance for their assigned initiatives, ensuring adherence to standards and consistent practices.
- Execute purchasing activities including submitting purchase orders, ensuring invoices are processed, and maintaining spend forecasts.
- Work with Finance to provide recurring capital forecast and labor allocation data and support year-end financial close activities.
- Support the Portfolio Manager in recurring activities performed by the Application Services leadership team, including strategy updates, annual planning, and executive (C-level) level reporting.
- Investigate and resolve issues with resource time entries and related allocations to investments, leveraging both product-based and project-based methods.
Key Skills & Experiences
Education
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, management, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Certifications (One or more of) – CSM/PMI-ACP/ PMP®/ preferred
Experience
- 5 years progressive work-related experience coordinating/managing and implementing technology projects, with demonstrated proficiency in budget management and planning
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated project management experience in organising, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
- Strong consultative skills and demonstrated ability to achieve corporate business objectives across functional boundaries.
- Must be able to logically identify work that is needed and create a work breakdown structure.
- Strong negotiator and able to influence those outside own team. Ability to lead a team in a matrix environment and resolve conflicts as needed.
- Must possess strong communication skills, written and verbal; articulate, persuasive & influential; systematic and timely. Will be responsible for developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders. Ability to maintain confidential data required.
- Experience with project management software, e.g., MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio and MS Excel, Planner.
- Works well under stress and can manage projects in an environment with tight deadlines.
- Managing project budgets as needed to account for internal project spend.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to solve problems, analyze data and make decisions that affect the project on regular basis.
- Experience in technology purchasing, through purchase orders and invoices.
- Proficiency in PPM and Agile tools such as Planview and Jira highly desirable.
