Sr. Project Manager (Data Engineering & Banking)
Description
End-to-End Project Delivery: Manage project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for enterprise-level Data Engineering and Banking technology initiatives.
Technical & Strategic Leadership: Collaborate closely with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Business Leaders to define project roadmaps, solution architecture strategies, and delivery schedules.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between executive business sponsors, technology partners, and third-party vendors.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, financial, and operational risks across data initiatives.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure project outputs conform to strict banking regulations, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, local central bank guidelines), and data governance standards.
Financial Accountability: Own the overall project budget, profit & loss (P&L), financial forecasting, and resource budgeting.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams, conduct retrospectives, and mentor junior PMs and PMO team members.
Requirements
Experience: 8+ years in IT project management, with a strong focus on delivering large-scale Data Engineering solutions (e.g., Data Warehousing, Big Data, Cloud Data Lakes, Snowflake, Databricks, ETL/ELT).
Domain Expertise: Deep domain knowledge in Banking / Financial Services (e.g., Core Banking, Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting, Wealth Management, or Payments).
Methodologies: Expert knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban), SAFe, and traditional Waterfall project management methodologies.
Tools: Expert in Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Advanced Excel, and BI tools (Power BI / Tableau).
Certifications (Required/Highly Preferred): PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
