Responsibilities
Billing & Functional Testing
- Validate ingestion, enrichment, rating and billing workflows
- Test contracts, line items and rate-card configurations
- Test PayG, term and hybrid pricing models
- Thoroughly automate new UI feature testing
Automation & Frameworks
- Own automation for backend APIs and end-to-end billing workflows
- Build reusable test-data and automation frameworks
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD
Billing Accuracy & Data Validation
- Validate expected vs. actual billing results
- Test recalculations and deterministic rating
- Validate data ingestion and reconciliation
Reliability
- Test idempotency, retries and delayed usage
- Cover billing-period and recalculation scenarios
- Support production validation and troubleshooting
Engineering aspects
- Own Round-1 automation code reviews
Skillset
Test Automation
- Strong API and backend test automation experience
- Python 3 and scripting for automation
- CI/CD and automated regression frameworks
API & Backend Testing
- REST API testing and automation
- End-to-end and integration testing of distributed systems
- Strong understanding of backend behavior and failure scenarios
- Async/event-driven workflow testing
- Strong distributed systems knowledge
Data & Cloud Testing
- SQL and relational database validation
- Test-data generation and data reconciliation
- AWS fundamentals — Lambda, ECS and RDS
Quality & Debugging
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills
- Logs, metrics and trace-based debugging
- Performance/load testing basics
- Strong attention to edge cases, accuracy and data correctness
- Ability to build reliable automation for systems with significant customer or financial impact
Engineering & AI
- AI-driven testing and development using modern coding and test-generation tools
- Billing, financial or data-intensive systems experience is a plus
Qualification
B.Tech / B.E / M.E. / M.Tech (Computer Science) / MCA or equivalent
