Summary
Senior Ruby on Rails developer owning the full product development lifecycle: writing clean, testable code, designing scalable and secure features, and following TDD, CI, and Scrum practices. Core stack is Rails 4-6 with MySQL/NoSQL databases and front-end basics like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery.
We are seeking a Senior Ruby Developer to execute the full lifecycle of the product development, by programming well-designed, efficient, and testable code that meets specifications.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Design robust, scalable, and secure features
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, and code standards)
- Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into the design
Qualifications
- 3+ years of work experience as a Ruby on Rails developer (versions 4, 5, and 6)
- Proven work experience in software development
- Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JQuery
- Experience developing highly interactive applications
- A firm grasp of object-oriented analysis and design
- Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
- Good knowledge of relational databases (preferably MySQL)
- Working knowledge of NoSQL databases
- Demonstrate Rails fundamentals and best practices knowledge
- Preferred RoR gems: RSpec, Capibara, Spinach, http_party, rest_client, Savon, sneakers, PubNub, Twilio
Education
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- If there is no formal college education +5 professional years of experience
