Sr. Sales Manager, Corporate Accounts

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Sales Manager, Corporate Accounts based in United States.

This role is responsible for accelerating growth across a portfolio of strategic corporate accounts and strengthening long-term customer partnerships.
You will develop and execute account strategies that align customer needs with business objectives, products, and services.
The position combines strategic account management, sales leadership, commercial planning, contract oversight, and continuous improvement.
You will build relationships with senior decision-makers across corporate headquarters and operating locations to establish trusted, long-term partnerships.
Success requires close collaboration with internal experts, commercial and legal teams, and stakeholders across North America and global operations.
The role offers significant visibility and the opportunity to influence pricing, profitability, customer value, and operational performance.
With approximately 50% travel, you will engage directly with customers and teams across diverse industrial environments.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned corporate accounts, establishing clear objectives, priorities, KPIs, and performance measures.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers across corporate headquarters and operating locations, maintaining regular engagement to strengthen preferred-supplier relationships.
  • Identify customer goals, operational challenges, and business needs, then position relevant products and services to deliver measurable value.
  • Conduct regular account reviews, evaluate performance, and revise strategic plans as market conditions, customer priorities, and business objectives evolve.
  • Communicate account performance, opportunities, risks, and strategic direction to senior sales leadership.
  • Coordinate with internal business lines and subject matter experts to align resources and deliver effective solutions for strategic customers.
  • Oversee contract reviews and risk assessments, partnering with commercial and legal stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential business risks.
  • Manage pricing within strategic accounts while ensuring alignment with broader market and commercial objectives.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with internal experts, including projects that may extend beyond assigned accounts.
  • Manage accounts receivable activities within assigned strategic accounts and work toward established financial objectives.
  • Monitor customer performance and market developments to identify opportunities for account expansion and stronger business partnerships.
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time to customer sites, corporate locations, meetings, and other business engagements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support strategic account and business objectives.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in sales, strategic account management, project management, or leadership, with 5–10 years of overall business experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience managing strategic or corporate accounts and developing long-term customer relationships.
    • Experience with contract management, commercial negotiations, and business risk assessment.
    • Strong understanding of customer needs, sales strategy, account planning, and value-based selling.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Strong customer service, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent time-management skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
    • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities, including the ability to prioritize work and delegate effectively when appropriate.
    • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and JD Edwards.
    • Lean Management, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence training is preferred.
    • Knowledge of the paper manufacturing industry and paper machine operations is highly desirable.
    • Ability to work for extended periods at a desk or computer and travel by car or air for extended periods.
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds and work in or visit industrial environments that may involve exposure to extreme conditions.
    • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
