Summary
Senior Software Developer designing and maintaining secure Drupal platforms for federal government systems. Day-to-day involves custom Drupal module development, API integrations (PHP, JavaScript, SQL), CI/CD pipelines, performance scaling, and WCAG/DHS Trusted Tester accessibility compliance in hybrid-remote arrangement reporting to Arlington, VA.
The Sr. Software Developer will shape the digital experience for critical federal systems. You design and maintain secure, high-performing Drupal platforms that serve important public missions. Your work directly protects sensitive data, ensures accessibility for every user, and delivers seamless content management capabilities. This position is classified as Hybrid/remote with the ability to report to Arlington, Virginia, and Government-directed mission locations when required.
Position Responsibilities
- Designs robust Drupal architecture and builds custom modules to meet strict federal standards.
- Secures platforms within SBU and FOUO environments to protect sensitive information.
- Optimizes platform performance and scales applications to handle high user traffic smoothly.
- Integrates APIs and content management frameworks using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL.
- Manages version control workflows and executes automated builds, testing, code scanning, and deployments.
- Executes smooth rollback processes when technical issues arise.
- Ensures strict compliance with WCAG standards and DHS Trusted Tester requirements for accessible web development.
- Implements advanced content search, taxonomy, metadata, and analytics instrumentation.
- Automates workflow deployments and diagnoses complex problems across application, integration, configuration, and infrastructure boundaries.
- Applies expert knowledge of WCAG and DHS Trusted Tester requirements to build fully accessible web applications.
- Configures content search, taxonomy, metadata, and analytics instrumentation accurately.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses intricate issues across applications, integrations, configurations, and infrastructure boundaries.
- Communicates technical concepts clearly and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.
Education & Experience:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or possesses equivalent professional experience.
- Hold an Active Drupal Certification.
- 8 years of experience in web or platform development
- 3 years of experience developing and managing Drupal-based platforms.
- Able to obtain a Public Trust
- Demonstrates extensive hands-on experience in Drupal architecture, module development, and configuration within sensitive federal or FISMA-regulated systems.
- Shows proven expertise in secure platform design for SBU and FOUO environments.
- Applies deep technical knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and REST APIs.
- Utilizes automated build, testing, code scanning, deployment, and rollback tools effectively.
- Brings direct experience working within FISMA-regulated federal agencies
