This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer - MCU based in India.
This is a senior engineering opportunity for someone passionate about building scalable, cloud-native products that solve complex real-world problems.
You will own sophisticated product capabilities from technical design through production deployment and ongoing support.
The role spans backend services, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, databases, search, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack development.
You will work with modern technologies including Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, AWS, React, and NestJS.
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will influence architecture, establish best practices, and help shape technical direction.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data Engineering, and global teams in a highly autonomous environment.
Your work will contribute to technology that transforms complex healthcare data into reliable products and meaningful outcomes.
Accountabilities:
- Own complex product features end-to-end, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support.
- Design, develop, optimize, and troubleshoot APIs, backend services, distributed microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Build and maintain Kafka-based systems, including producers, consumers, consumer groups, replay mechanisms, and failure-recovery strategies.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schemas, queries, indexes, and performance for high-volume applications.
- Develop and optimize Elasticsearch indexes, mappings, search queries, and performance for large-scale search workloads.
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-native applications running on Kubernetes, including Helm charts, CronJobs, autoscaling, and production environments.
- Contribute to AWS cloud infrastructure and collaborate on Spark and EMR-based data-processing workflows.
- Build and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, and NestJS.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews while helping establish engineering standards and best practices.
- Partner with Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
- Identify and implement improvements across system reliability, observability, scalability, operational performance, and infrastructure efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while helping the wider engineering team solve complex technical challenges.
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience developing scalable, production-grade applications.
- Strong experience designing and developing APIs, distributed microservices, and event-driven systems using Kafka.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting Kafka environments, including producers, consumers, consumer groups, replay strategies, and failure recovery.
- Strong full-stack development experience with TypeScript and Node.js, including delivery of customer-facing products from conception through production.
- Advanced experience with PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning for high-volume applications.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, AWS, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience implementing and optimizing search functionality with Elasticsearch.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives.
- Strong ownership mindset, sound architectural judgment, and comfort making technical trade-offs with limited direction.
- Python/PySpark or similar data-processing experience is a strong plus.
- Experience with Golang is advantageous.
- Experience developing AI-powered applications or integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic is a plus.
- Familiarity with RAG architectures and modern AI frameworks such as LangChain or Vercel AI SDK is advantageous.
- Candidates must be based in India and able to work with meaningful overlap with U.S. East Coast hours, including availability until approximately 10:30 PM IST when required.
