About the role

We are looking for a Sr Software Engineer to join our team supporting a leading technology platform that automates and personalizes direct mail at scale. In this role, you will contribute to the development of frontdoor solutions while helping design, build, and maintain scalable software systems. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and business partners to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions in a collaborative environment with clear ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of medium-sized features or services with guidance from Staff Engineers or Technical Leads.
• Contribute to the development of frontdoor solutions
• Participate in debugging and improving production systems to ensure reliability and performance
• Collaborate with engineers to evaluate tradeoffs, propose solutions, and deliver well-scoped changes
• Collaborate with product and business partners to understand the problems we’re solving
• Provide thoughtful code reviews and help maintain a high engineering bar across the team, Write documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience building production software with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience working with Redis and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience with job-queueing or messaging systems such as SQS, Kafka, Kinesis, or similar
• Experience building or operating services in a cloud environment (AWS or similar)
• Experience integrating with external APIs and/or developing internal APIs
• Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests that run in CI pipelines
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude or similar)
• Experience with Datadog is highly desirable
• Experience building or supporting systems that generate user-facing output (such as web UIs, templates, or generated artifacts) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
