Renesas is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Test with strong Python skills to develop and execute automated and manual test solutions for software, hardware, and firmware products. Experience in electrical engineering, hardware, or PCB design is a plus.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate market-leading digital controller solutions powering AI, client, and server applications. Responsibilities include test planning, automation, debugging, test execution, and driving product quality across the development lifecycle.
Job responsibilities in QA Testing:
You will work teams across the globe to generate test requirements and define test methodologies.
- Design and execute automated and manual test plans for software, hardware, firmware, and IC solutions.
- Debug software and hardware issues, with a focus on IC functionality and root cause analysis.
- Analyze test results, report defects, and support issue resolution with development and customer-facing teams.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure product quality exceeds expectations.
- Drive test automation, validation framework improvements, and QA best practices.
- Mentor team members and contribute to testing strategy, planning, and process enhancements.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while balancing quality, timelines, and feature delivery.
- Proactively identify risks, raise issues, and recommend product and process improvements.
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar
Experience: 5+ years of Software QA experience, including 3+ years testing software integrated with hardware/firmware.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong test automation skills with Python and tools such as Qt Squish, SmartBear Test Complete, or similar.
- Experience with Git, GitLab, DevOps, Confluence, and HW/SW test environments.
- Solid understanding of JIRA, version control, QA best practices, and software/hardware development lifecycles.
- Proven ability to mentor teams, improve test coverage, and drive quality initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience in electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications, ideally in power systems, semiconductors, or ICs.
- Familiarity with lab test equipment and measurement tools.
- Background in both Software QA and IC/Power Engineering preferred.
