Sr. SQL Software Engineer III - 3663861 (Buffalo, NY)

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Sr. SQL Software Engineer III position! This is a 12+ month contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY.

This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts for critical database and application components
• Direct and mentor less experienced engineers while coordinating development tasks across projects
• Design and optimize advanced SQL solutions including data modeling, query tuning, and indexing strategies
• Manage Liquibase database change control including versioning, rollback procedures, and deployment automation
• Build and maintain secure integrations using Java, Spring Boot, and JDBC/JPA against Azure SQL environments
• Support data migration efforts and ensure seamless integration across interfacing applications and platforms
• Prepare clear technical specifications, documentation, and test plans to guide development and QA efforts
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and application issues across the full development lifecycle
• Recommend new tools, technologies, and process improvements to strengthen team efficiency and code quality
• Evaluate vendor software and provide technical input during selection and implementation phases

What You'll Need to Have:

• 6+ years of systems analysis and application development experience, or equivalent combined education/experience
• Advanced SQL development expertise, including data modeling, query tuning, indexing, and stored procedures
• Proven experience with Liquibase for database change management, versioning, and CI/CD deployment automation
• Strong proficiency with Azure SQL, Java, Spring Boot, and JDBC/JPA for secure application integration
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, interrelated systems across multiple applications and platforms
• Experience mentoring and directing less experienced engineers on complex, multi-phase projects
• Solid understanding of application frameworks and experience coordinating between technical teams and business units
• Proven ability to drive project milestones, manage delivery timelines, and adapt to evolving priorities

Pay Range: $80-88/hr
