Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Sr System Administrator to join our shared services team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical leader for enterprise infrastructure spanning Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, and core SaaS platforms.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to design solutions that scale and remain resilient under load.
- Take charge during outages: direct response efforts, coordinate across teams, and communicate status clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Lead root cause analysis following incidents and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Own and maintain high-availability infrastructure across multiple locations and cloud environments.
- Lead infrastructure projects — implementations, migrations, upgrades, and acquisition integrations — from planning through execution.
- Administer identity and access management platforms, including Active Directory, ADFS, and Microsoft Entra.
- Support enterprise datacenter infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and disaster recovery systems.
- Act as a mentor and subject-matter expert, translating complex technical topics into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Identify and champion opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Participate in 24x7 operational support as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, with demonstrated leadership in incident response and cross-team coordination.
- Proven experience operating and maintaining high-availability (HA) environments.
- Extensive experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, and VMware administration.
- Experience with identity and access management platforms, including Active Directory, ADFS, and Microsoft Entra.
- Experience managing Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise networking and telecommunications systems.
- Proven track record leading root cause analysis and driving preventive measures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues for varied audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships across teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security policies, VPN connectivity, and threat prevention.
- Experience deploying and supporting Cisco Meraki networking solutions.
- Knowledge of network segmentation, zero trust principles, and enterprise security architecture.
- Familiarity with mobile device management (Intune, MaaS360).
- Exposure to compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST).
Pay Range- The salary range for this position is $140,000-160,000 annually. The starting salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
