Senior QA Engineer / Business Analyst

Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with Business Analysis experience who combines strong end-to-end quality assurance expertise with business analysis capabilities. This role owns the QA approach across the delivery lifecycle — from requirement gathering through release and hypercare — while translating business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and testable scenarios. The ideal candidate is experienced in web, desktop, API, and database testing, test automation (Playwright/Selenium), AI-assisted quality engineering, and close collaboration with business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

• Own/contribute to the QA approach across the SDLC; define scope, objectives, test levels/types, environments, data needs, risks, and entry/exit criteria.
• Prepare test plans and estimates for features, enhancements, integrations, and releases.
  

Test Design & Execution

• Design, review, and execute test cases (positive, negative, boundary, integration, regression, exploratory, usability, end-to-end).
• Use AI agents/tools to accelerate test-case generation, test data prep, and execution/analysis — validating all AI output via QA judgment.
• Manage defect lifecycle: log, triage, prioritize, track to resolution; conduct regression testing, release-readiness assessments, and post-release/hypercare validation.
  

Business Analysis & Requirements

• Partner with stakeholders, product owners, and SMEs in requirement-gathering, refinement, and solution walkthroughs.
• Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional requirements; identify gaps, risks, and dependencies.
• Translate business requirements into testable scenarios and measurable quality outcomes; bridge business and technical teams.
• Web, Desktop, API & Database Testing*
• Test web (cross-browser/device) and desktop applications, including installs, upgrades, and integrations.
• Validate workflows, data flows, UI, integrations, and error handling.
• Perform database testing (CRUD, data integrity, mappings, stored procedures, backend-to-frontend reconciliation) and trace data defects across layers.
  
  

Test Automation & Modern Quality Engineering

• Build/maintain automated tests using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) with robust, maintainable frameworks.
• Establish a Selenium automation framework from scratch (structure, config, driver management, page-object design, data handling, reporting) using Java or a suitable language.
• Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code) for automation design, code generation, and debugging.
• Select automation candidates, balance with manual/exploratory/risk-based testing, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor automation reliability and reduce flaky tests.
  
  

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in stand-ups, planning, refinement, retros, demos, and release reviews.
• Communicate quality risks, blockers, and progress proactively; promote quality ownership across the team.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring, and process improvement.
  

Required Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in QA/test engineering across web, desktop, API, and device testing.
• Proven end-to-end QA process experience: requirements → planning → release → hypercare.
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional/testable requirements.
• Strong manual testing background (functional, integration, regression, system, E2E, exploratory, risk-based).
• Hands-on *Playwright* automation using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Strong Selenium knowledge with proven ability to build a framework from scratch; familiarity with Java.
• Database testing and cross-layer data validation experience.
• Experience with complex, integrated applications and business processes.
• Experience using AI tools/agents for test generation, automation, or analysis.
• Strong defect analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CI/CD integration of automated tests; API/service-level testing.
• Experience with test management, defect tracking, source control, and reporting tools.
• Agile/Scrum familiarity; test data and environment/release management experience.
• Exposure to accessibility, performance, security, or compatibility testing.
• Mentoring experience; ISTQB or equivalent certification.
