This role is responsible for managing and optimizing transportation and logistics activities across a national network.
You will analyze transportation data, improve routing accuracy, control costs, and strengthen carrier performance.
The position combines analytical problem-solving with hands-on operational support and customer service.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, transportation partners, management, and operational teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and execute transportation and logistics strategies, supporting efficient movement of raw and finished goods to internal and external customers.
  • Monitor missed pickups, service commitments, route performance, and customer priorities to ensure timely and reliable service.
  • Collect, interpret, reconcile, and analyze logistics data, including inventory, assets, routing, and carrier performance, to improve accuracy and profitability.
  • Identify route inefficiencies and recurring operational patterns, recommending adjustments that improve route design, on-route efficiency, and customer service.
  • Proactively resolve transportation issues and delays while goods are in transit, coordinating communications with impacted customers and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate transportation performance and cost opportunities, presenting recommendations for freight-lane optimization and cost reduction to stakeholders and management.
  • Support the implementation and replacement of transportation software and brokerage tools, while helping colleagues adopt new systems and processes.
  • Track key performance indicators and contribute to initiatives that improve operational effectiveness and service delivery.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by following safety objectives, engaging with operational employees, and escalating driver performance concerns when appropriate.
  • Serve as a customer-focused transportation partner, consistently demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in transportation or logistics.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to translate data into practical operational recommendations.
    • Experience in a customer-facing role, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly for analyzing and presenting transportation data.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and time-sensitive requirements.
    • Process- and results-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on achieving operational goals and continuous improvement.
    • Ability to quickly assess issues, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions with limited time.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when validating and reconciling operational data.
    • Demonstrated ethical judgment, accountability, and professionalism when working with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
    • A collaborative approach and ability to build effective relationships across transportation, operations, management, and other business functions.
