Job Title: Part-Time Café / Cafeteria Manager

Location: St. Joseph Hessen Cassel School

Hours: Part-Time (approx. 25-29 hours/week, Mon–Fri during the academic year)

About the Role

St. Joseph Hessen Cassel is seeking a organized and dependable Café Manager to oversee daily cafeteria operations. This position ensures our students and staff receive healthy, appealing meals in a welcoming, faith-filled environment that reflects our school's Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Meal Operations: Plan, prepare, and serve balanced breakfast and lunch items in compliance with health and nutrition standards.

  • Inventory & Ordering: Manage food supplies, manage stock rotation, track inventory levels, and order ingredients within the assigned budget.

  • Point of Sale & Billing: Manage student meal accounts, process payments using the cafeteria management software, and track daily sales records.

  • Sanitation & Safety: Maintain exceptionally clean kitchen and dining areas, enforcing strict food safety and ServSafe protocols.

  • Student Engagement: Maintain a positive, caring demeanor with elementary students, encouraging healthy choices and good manners.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (prior food service or kitchen management experience preferred).

  • 3 years within the food industry/kitchen.
  • Active ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain it prior to start date).

  • Successful completion of required diocesan background checks and child protection training (e.g., Virtus/Protecting God’s Children).

  • Basic computer proficiency for handling inventory and POS software.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods during meal prep and service hours.
