ST Women's Basketball Equipment Aide - Douglas

Position Summary

The Student – Women's Basketball Equipment Aide is responsible for providing support to the Athletic Department by performing duties required to set up, break down and clean equipment used for women's basketball practice and home games.

Note: Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:

Keeps gym and other assigned areas and equipment neat and orderly

Observes and enforces all rules and regulations of the assigned facility

Accurately communicates information to assigned supervisor in a timely manner

Seeks assistance from supervisor as needed

Multi-tasks, organizes, prioritizes, and follows multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail

Must be able to attend all basketball practices and games

Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

General Expectations: Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Employees will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.

Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Requirements:
Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer
Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A or higher
Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Ability to handle inquiries and problems efficiently and direct to the proper staff member
Ability to report for work on time and notify the appropriate individual in advance if unable to work
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Afternoon, evening and weekend work will be required.

Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle

Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
