Job Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for managing accounts receivable functions including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations, as well as processing accurate and timely payroll. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AR processes and payroll systems.
Seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for managing accounts receivable functions including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations, as well as processing accurate and timely payroll. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AR processes and payroll systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate customer invoices, apply payments, and manage aging reports and collections.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations to research and resolve customer account discrepancies.
- Compile, input, and process payroll weekly. Ensure payroll data input is accurate, complete and entered on-time.
- Support month-end closing processes, including but not limited to, physical inventory reconciliation, job closures, and journal entries.
- Perform product and customer margin analysis, including monthly review and reporting. Produce additional reports and analysis as requested.
- Assist with data validation during system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
- Document accounting processes, workflows and internal controls. Identify opportunities for improvement, with a focus on automation.
- Support external audit requests.
- Additional projects and task as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.).
Preferred:
- 3-5 years of accounting and payroll processing experience.
- Basic to intermediate SQL skills
- Experience in manufacturing.
