We're looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Vancouver, Washington!

In this role, you'll do more than balance the books. You'll play an important part in keeping our financial operations running smoothly, supporting accurate reporting, and identifying opportunities to make our processes even better. What You'll Do

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for monthly and annual financial close.
• Perform bank and cash reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Process banking transactions, including wire transfers, ACH payments, and positive pay activities.
• Maintain fixed asset records, prepaid expense schedules, and monthly accruals.
• Support the financial closing of completed homes, including revenue recognition, cost of goods sold, and job cost reconciliations.
• Review home closing documentation to ensure accurate reporting of revenue and construction costs.
• Prepare state sales and use tax returns and assist with property tax compliance.
• Assist with financial reporting, budget preparation, and variance analysis.
• Support financial audits and other compliance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to maintain accurate financial records and strong internal controls.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with account reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• A commitment to accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality.

Even Better If You Have:

• Accounting experience in construction or homebuilding.
• Familiarity with construction revenue recognition, job costing, and cost of goods sold.
• Experience with ACH payments, wire transfers, and positive pay.
• Experience preparing state sales and use tax returns.
• Experience using QuickBooks.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $38.46–$43.27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
