This is a rare opportunity to build an international accounting career — without leaving Moldova. As a Staff Accountant at CloudX Systems, you will be part of our local team in Chisinau while serving as a dedicated finance resource for our US-based sister company within Elanders Group, reporting to the Controller.

You will own the day-to-day general accounting operations the business relies on every month — preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet and bank accounts, and driving the monthly and year-end close. You will be grounded in CloudX’s culture and supported by our team in Chisinau, while engaging daily with finance stakeholders in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

●Journal entries: Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner, including entries prepared independently to support account reconciliations.
●Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank statements, and general ledger accounts — investigating and resolving discrepancies.
●General ledger: Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities, and expenses).
●Month-end and year-end close: Support the close process end to end, contributing to accurate and on-time reporting.
●Financial reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
●AP / AR: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions when needed, and generate reports for AP aging, check runs, and vendor management.
●Fixed assets: Maintain and update fixed asset schedules.
●Compliance: Prepare and file sales tax and other compliance reports and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
●Audit support: Assist with audits by providing documentation and support to external auditors.
●Analysis: Perform variance analysis and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
●Process improvement: Streamline workflow processes and collaborate with team members on process efficiencies.

Requirements
●Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
●1–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
●Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
●Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
●Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
●Strong written and spoken English — daily collaboration with US-based stakeholders is required.
●Ability to work US East Coast business hours.
●Ability to work effectively and proactively in a cross-border, distributed team.

Nice to Have
●Experience supporting a US entity or working under US GAAP.
●Exposure to a shared services or multi-entity group environment.
●Experience with ERP implementations or month-end close automation.
●Studying towards, or planning to pursue, ACCA, CPA, or a similar qualification.
●Domain knowledge in logistics, supply chain, or e-commerce.

What We Offer
●Competitivesalary and performance-based bonuses.
●Health insurance, sport reimbursement and other perks.
●Professional growth opportunities and ongoing learning support.
●A collaborative and innovative team culture.
●Flexible working hours and remote-friendly policy.
