Job Details

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operational Analytics & Reporting, this role leverages advanced analytics to measure the success of insurance product countrywide programs while serving as a senior technical resource across the analytics team for more complex business function analysis and ad hoc projects. As a subject matter expert in data visualization, robust reporting, and analytical deep dives, this role will play a key part in:

  • Translating complex data into actionable insights through advanced data visualization and intuitive dashboards leveraging efficient data aggregation.

  • Understanding the expected changes and corresponding impacts of various insurance product initiatives.

  • Conducting analytical deep dives to uncover root causes, inform the setup of analytical frameworks, and enable stakeholders to quickly grasp results and market trends.

  • Proactively identifying systemic process and data gaps across the insurance lifecycle, moving beyond surface-level fixes to define the root cause of operational friction.

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance both new initiatives and existing programs.

This role will also be responsible for evaluating the ongoing health of various metrics for the current book of business, developing comprehensive performance reports, and proactively raising and understanding key drivers of any new trends observed. While this individual will begin with no direct reports, the role is expected to grow into people management of one to two individual contributors, and the individual will serve as a technical leader across the analytics team from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a connective bridge with the Insurance Product org, linking the technical detail of the analysis to the broader operational and financial analytics the team is responsible for, so stakeholders and senior leadership can see how the work translates into business and financial context.

  • Closely work and collaborate with the Insurance Product team to align on analytical requirements and measures of success for both new and ongoing initiatives.

  • Partner closely with the other analytics function teams—including Sales & Marketing, Claims, and Service—as the advanced-analytics resource on the more complex, specialized projects that arise within their functions.

  • Build out comprehensive monitoring frameworks that provide insights around current results and trends. Leverage these findings to provide recommendations on both product and strategy that will have positive impacts on growth, retention, and profitability.

  • Independently conduct analysis of current countrywide programs to understand and quantify the success of the program while identifying areas of opportunity for future enhancements related to growth and profitability.

  • Architect end-to-end analytical frameworks for complex, multi-faceted business issues, including the development and refinement of predictive models where appropriate.

  • Proactively identify systemic process and data gaps across the insurance lifecycle, mapping out the ripple effects and trade-offs of proposed solutions.

  • Consistently demonstrate curiosity by proposing new ideas for analysis and leveraging the resulting insights to show alignment with or opportunities within current and future strategies.

  • Conduct competitor research using various tools and sources to keep a proactive pulse on industry results and trends that could inform internal decisions.

  • Serve as a technical leader across the analytics team, providing guidance and raising the analytical floor through collaboration, using advanced influencing and storytelling skills to shape business decisions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience & background in insurance products, preferably personal lines property and/or auto insurance products.

  • Advanced analytical thinking and comfort in evaluating the success of various countrywide insurance product programs against targets.

  • Expert-level mastery of SQL.

  • Experience building and refining predictive models in Python or R.

  • Demonstrated track record of identifying structural process gaps, proposing solutions and influencing business decisions.

  • Experience gathering requirements and building dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau, or LookerStudio.

  • Able to conduct cost-benefit analyses to inform strategic decisions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of working with high autonomy on complex initiatives while meeting short and long-term deadlines.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • CPCU or equivalent insurance designation and/or passing of actuarial exams preferred but not required.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
