Staff Attorney

Gwinnett County Superior Court Division 12 is seeking a Staff Attorney to assist the Judge by conducting legal research, analysis, and document preparation related to cases, statutes, records, and related information. This position will be effective January 4, 2027.

Essential Duties

• Perform and analyze legal research
• Analyze pleadings (mostly motions and briefs) and make recommendations regarding dispositions of matters
• Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents
• Support the Court during conferences, motions hearings, and trials
• Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with law enforcement personnel, county employees, elected officials, the public, and other interested parties
• Maintain the Rules of Professional Conduct
  

Public Speaking Duties

• At the discretion of the Judge

Salary

• The grade for this position is 105. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Upload a writing sample
• Juris Doctorate
• Five years experience as an attorney
• Member in good standing with the Georgia Bar

Preferred Qualifications

• Law clerk or judicial staff attorney experience
• Civil background
