Staff Backend Engineer
You will design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs that serve high request volumes with low latency. You will optimize Postgres queries, profile and trace code paths to remove bottlenecks, and operate highly available AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate with product to define and prioritize features, write well-tested maintainable code, and work on features such as feeds, discovery, trading metrics, trade comments, and protocol indexers.
Responsibilities
- Build clean, maintainable, and well-tested backend code
- Design backend REST APIs for usability and scale
- Collaborate with product to define, prioritize, and build features
- Optimize Postgres queries and database performance
- Profile and trace code paths to identify and remove bottlenecks
- Operate and optimize AWS infrastructure for high availability
- Serve high-throughput low-latency APIs summarizing onchain and offchain data
Requirements
- Deep experience with Node.js and Typescript
- Experience with Postgres and query optimization
- Experience with Redis
- Experience operating services on AWS
- Experience designing and building programmatic APIs and REST services
- 5+ years at tech startups with large-scale user traffic
- Experience maintaining highly available infrastructure
