Staff Designer & Creative Technologist
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Designer & Creative Technologist based in United States.
This is a hands-on creative leadership role at the intersection of brand, growth, and revenue.
You’ll own the creative function for a portfolio of DTC and enterprise marketing initiatives, with significant autonomy from day one.
Your work will directly influence customer acquisition, conversion, average order value, and acquisition costs.
You’ll design and ship landing pages, funnels, campaigns, and digital experiences across multiple brands and audiences.
The role combines strong visual craft with practical development skills, experimentation, performance analysis, and AI-enabled production.
You’ll also partner with marketing and brand leaders while directing external creative partners and establishing scalable creative standards.
This is an ideal environment for an independent, pragmatic designer who thrives on speed, ownership, experimentation, and measurable results.
Accountabilities:
- Own the creative function across a portfolio of DTC and enterprise marketing initiatives, establishing creative standards and maintaining a consistently high quality bar.
- Design and deliver high-converting landing pages, funnels, campaign assets, and digital experiences across multiple brands, adapting quickly to different audiences and brand identities.
- Take creative projects from initial direction through final execution, transforming concise written or verbal briefs into polished, effective, on-brand work.
- Connect creative decisions directly to business performance by developing hypotheses, launching variants, analyzing results, and iterating based on conversion rate, average order value, acquisition cost, and other relevant metrics.
- Partner closely with growth teams on A/B testing and experimentation, using performance data to guide creative decisions rather than relying solely on aesthetic preference.
- Serve as the primary creative partner for marketing and brand leaders across multiple business units, providing strategic guidance and translating business objectives into effective creative approaches.
- Direct and review the work of external agencies and freelance creative partners, ensuring their output meets established standards and business objectives.
- Build reusable templates, components, workflows, documentation, and creative systems that allow the function to scale efficiently.
- Translate designs from Figma into live digital environments using Webflow, Framer, or comparable platforms, troubleshooting implementation issues independently where possible.
- Incorporate generative AI tools into day-to-day creative and production workflows to accelerate execution and increase output.
- Maintain clear ownership of project status, proactively communicating progress, questions, blockers, and potential timeline risks to stakeholders.
- Challenge and refine briefs by identifying the underlying objective, asking targeted questions, and improving the proposed solution rather than simply executing instructions.
- Establish a culture of autonomy, practical decision-making, experimentation, and continuous improvement across creative initiatives.
- 3+ years of professional design experience, ideally in performance marketing, growth, DTC, direct-response, agency, or fast-paced startup environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple brands, projects, or clients simultaneously while delivering high-quality work on short timelines.
- Strong Figma skills, including the ability to work quickly, maintain organized files, and extend established brand systems.
- Hands-on experience with Webflow, Framer, or comparable web-building platforms, plus sufficient HTML/CSS knowledge to diagnose and resolve visual implementation issues.
- Strong understanding of conversion-focused design principles, including visual hierarchy, social proof, friction reduction, CTA placement, and customer behavior.
- Ability to connect design choices to measurable business outcomes such as conversion rate, average order value, customer acquisition cost, and engagement.
- Experience working with A/B testing or experimentation processes and using performance data to inform creative iteration.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to advise marketing and brand leaders and explain creative decisions in clear business terms.
- Ability to provide constructive direction to external agencies, freelancers, and creative partners.
- Strong independent judgment, with the ability to make decisions autonomously while recognizing when escalation or stakeholder input is required.
- Highly proactive communication style, including consistently providing project updates and identifying blockers or risks early.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, high-volume environments where priorities can shift and rapid shipping and iteration are valued over lengthy polishing cycles.
- Practical and adaptable approach to tools and processes, with the ability to work effectively in imperfect or legacy systems and learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
- Experience using generative AI tools as part of a creative or production workflow is highly desirable.
- Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or another regulated industry is a plus.
- Experience directing external creative partners, working directly with clients, or collaborating closely with growth or product teams is advantageous.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts.
- Flexible paid time off.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
- Life insurance.
- Pet insurance and additional employee benefits.
- Flat organizational structure with significant autonomy and opportunities to contribute ideas.
- Collaborative environment built around autonomy, competence, belonging, and ownership.
- Opportunity to directly influence creative strategy, customer acquisition, and measurable business performance.
- Hands-on exposure to multiple brands, digital experiences, growth initiatives, and emerging AI-enabled creative workflows.
