Staff Engineer, Salesforce

Open 32d

Summary

Senior Salesforce Developer role at NETGEAR designing and maintaining scalable solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, and Agentforce. The role involves owning solution architecture, CI/CD pipelines using Copado and Salesforce DX, and mentoring junior developers. Core technologies include Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, Flow, and REST/SOAP APIs.

Join our collaborative Salesforce development team as a hands-on Staff Salesforce Engineer, where you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud. You will also contribute to our growing investment in Salesforce Data Cloud and Agent force, helping shape the next generation of our Salesforce capabilities.

This role for an experienced developer who enjoys writing production code, solving complex technical challenges, and influencing architecture and engineering standards. You will own solution design decisions within your domain, promote development best practices, and help advance our CI/CD maturity using Copado and Salesforce DX.

Working closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders, you will contribute throughout the full sprint lifecycle—from requirements and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

This is an onsite position based in Bengaluru or Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

Platform development

• Design and implement solutions using Apex (classes, triggers, batch, queueable, schedulable), LWC, and Aura across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud

• Build and configure Experience Cloud sites — templates, audience targeting, CMS content, community roles, and sharing rules

• Architect and govern hybrid declarative/programmatic solutions, balancing Flows and Apex with governor limit awareness

• Develop and maintain REST/SOAP API integrations with external systems using Named Credentials and Connected Apps

• Own custom object design, data model decisions, and sharing architecture in a multi-cloud org

AI, Agentforce & Data Cloud

• Configure and maintain Data Cloud data streams, data model objects, and identity resolution rulesets

• Build unified customer profiles by ingesting data from Salesforce CRM, external systems, and web/mobile event sources

• Create and manage segments, calculated insights, and activation targets for use in Service and Sales Cloud flows

• Collaborate with data and analytics teams on data governance, consent management, and profile hygiene

• Design and configure Agentforce agents — defining topics, instructions, and actions tied to Apex, flows, and external APIs

• Integrate Einstein features (Next Best Action, Case Classification, Copilot) within Service and Sales Cloud contexts

• Evaluate emerging Salesforce AI capabilities for production readiness and recommend adoption roadmap

DevOps AND Release Management

• Own and operate CI/CD pipelines using Salesforce DX (SFDX), Git, and Copado — including pipeline configuration, branch strategy, and quality gate rules

• Manage scratch org strategy, unlocked packages, and metadata conflict resolution across multi-sandbox environments

• Use CodeScan and PMD as automated code quality gates within the Copado pipeline

• Author deployment runbooks, rollback plans, and environment promotion documentation (Dev > UAT > Production)

Technical Leadership

• Conduct code reviews and enforce SFDX best practices and org-wide coding standards

• Translate business requirements into technical design documents with documented trade-offs

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through structured code review feedback and pairing

• Actively participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming as a senior technical voice — not just a code contributor

• Collaborate cross-functionally with business analysts, QA, product owners, and integration teams to bring solutions from requirement to production

• Partner with architects on data model design, sharing rules, and security architecture

Required Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of hands-on Salesforce development experience in a production environment — not primarily admin or config work

• Deep expertise in Sales Cloud: opportunity management, CPQ basics, forecasting, and custom automation

• Deep expertise in Service Cloud: case management, Omni-Channel routing, entitlements, CTI/SCV integrations, and knowledge base configuration

• Solid Experience Cloud experience: site configuration, audience targeting, community sharing, CMS, and LWC for Experience

• Working knowledge of Data Cloud: data streams, data model objects, identity resolution, segments, and activation

• Expert-level Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, and Flow — able to review and rewrite complex Apex logic

• Proficiency in Salesforce DX, Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket), and Copado for CI/CD pipeline ownership

• VS Code with Salesforce Extension Pack as primary IDE

• Strong grasp of Salesforce security model: profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, field-level security, and OWDs

• Experience with REST and SOAP API integrations using Named Credentials and external services

• Ability to write and maintain Apex test classes consistently above 85% code coverage

• Experience operating in large orgs: high record volumes, multi-sandbox environments, governor limit management

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on Agentforce experience: agent configuration, topic and action design, and prompt template management

• Experience with Data Cloud identity resolution and unified profile activation in Service or Sales Cloud contexts

• Familiarity with OmniStudio: FlexCards, OmniScripts, DataRaptors, and Integration Procedures

• Experience with Copado Robotic Testing or Provar for automated regression within CI/CD pipelines

• Knowledge of Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and event-driven architecture patterns on Salesforce

• Jira and Confluence fluency for backlog management, sprint ceremonies, and technical documentation

• Exposure to Salesforce Event Monitoring and EventLogFile analysis for org health and debugging

Required Certifications (at least two of the following at time of hire)

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I

  • Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant

  • Salesforce Platform Developer II

  • Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant

  • Salesforce Administrator

  • Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant

  • Salesforce AI Associate or Agentforce Specialist

  • Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant

Full Legal Name, Email Address, Current Location, Resume

  • Preferred Name optional
  • Contact Phone Number
  • How did you hear about this oppportunity? choose one
  • If referred by current NETGEAR employee  - please add name  optional
  • Are you legally authorized to work in the country you are applying to? choose one
  • Do you now or in the future require visa sponsorship? choose one
  • 1) Describe the most important Salesforce process / integration you have designed or led end to end. optional
  • 2) Describe an org where Sales and Service Cloud shared the Account/Contact model but needed conflicting automation - say, a Service process triggering unwanted Opportunity behavior. How did you untangle the conflict and isolate the logic? Walk me through your thinking. optional
  • 3) Tell me about a time a solution of yours ran into governor limits or performance trouble in a high-volume org. What was happening, how did you diagnose it, and how did you rework it? Feel free to get into the specifics of the data volumes and the code. optional
  • 4) Tell me about a time you had to rework a Lead conversion or Opportunity process because the underlying data was a mess. What were you dealing with, and how did you approach the matching or de-duplication logic? I'd love to hear how you reasoned about the edge cases. optional
  • 5) Walk me through a deployment that went wrong - one you had to roll back or hotfix. What broke, how did you contain the impact, and what was the actual fix you shipped versus the quick patch? I'm interested in how you think under production pressure. optional
  • 6) Tell me about the most complex Omni-Channel or entitlement-based routing you've built - queues, skills, SLAs, capacity. What made it tricky, and describe a time routing behaved in a way you didn't expect and how you tracked down the cause. optional
  • 7) What's the least elegant workaround you've had to ship because of a genuine Salesforce platform constraint (not a routine governor limit)? Tell me what forced it, why a cleaner approach didn't work, and how you feel about that trade-off looking back. optional
