Staff Foundry Engineer

Summary

Leads semiconductor manufacturing process development and yield improvement in a silicon foundry, moving technologies from early-stage to high-volume production while ensuring quality and cost targets.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Responsible for semiconductor manufacturing processes within a silicon foundry NTI/NPI to HVM environment
  • Oversees process development, qualification, continuous improvement for silicon manufacturing technologies
  • Work closely with product engineering team to drive foundry on wafer yield improvement initiatives using SPC and data-driven methodologies
  • Support Corp team (SFE, DE, BU PM) on technology transfer and/or product qualification from NTI/NPI to HVM
  • Collaborate with SFE and Quality to ensure process robustness, manufacturability and Quality Compliance, including Change Management
  • Joint-effort with SQE as first responders on problem solving on quality issues and co-lead Task Force team on rapid response to quality escalation issues
  • Support Sourcing on cost reduction and value engineering initiatives

Requirements:

  • Masters/Bachelor Degree in Engineering with at least 7 years prior experience for the semiconductor industry
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skill
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Data-driven mindset with focus on quality, yield and delivery
  • Experience with SPC, DOE, FMEA, Root-Cause Analysis methodologies
