Staff Full Stack Engineer

Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing is the foundation of the industry and is currently highly manual, costing billions. We provide large insurers with software solutions to win in a technology-driven world, from self-service claim filing to backend fraud detection. The challenges we face include creating digital experiences for claimants at stressful times and orchestrating large-scale ML-driven decision-making on billions of dollars of claims payments. We’re looking for an experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to shape and scale our B2B SaaS platform. As a technical contributor, you’ll build across the stack, design systems, deliver customer-facing features, and drive platform-wide improvements that enable us to move faster and smarter as we grow.

You’ll play a key role in defining our technical direction, mentoring other engineers, and translating product ideas into intuitive, performant experiences. This role is ideal for someone who loves end-to-end ownership, from data models to pixels, and wants to impact product and architecture alike.

What You’ll Do

• 🛠️ Work across the stack, from backend APIs and infrastructure to frontend interfaces, launching and iterating on core product features.
• Write and ship production-grade code that balances speed, quality, and scalability.
• ️ Collaborate with product and design to translate ideas and feedback into polished, user-centered experiences.
• 🤝 Lead and mentor other engineers, sharing knowledge and elevating the team’s technical bar.
• 🧠 Own the full lifecycle of features, from concept to mockup to deployment and iteration.
• ⚙️ Contribute to architecture and process decisions that improve developer velocity and system reliability.

What You Bring

• 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience (preferably in SaaS or large-scale web applications).
• Proven experience designing and building complex, performant, and reliable systems end-to-end.
• Strong product and design sensibility, you care about user experience and product polish as much as backend scalability.
• Collaborative mindset, you thrive in cross-functional environments and enjoy working closely with product, design, and engineering peers.
• Not required: Specific framework or stack experience. We value adaptability and problem-solving over tools.

Our current stack includes: Node.js (TypeScript), Docker, PostgreSQL on the backend, and React (TypeScript) on the frontend.
