Staff Fullstack Engineer

Summary

Staff Fullstack Engineer builds and scales an AI-driven fintech platform for financial planning, using TypeScript/React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend with GCP and BigQuery.

About the Role

We're an AI-native financial planning and analysis (FP&A) platform helping finance teams modernize their operations — connecting data sources, automating reporting, and enabling deeper strategic insights. Backed by top-tier investors and at the Series A/B stage, we're a team of ~30–50 people building category-defining software in the fintech space.

We're looking for a Staff Fullstack Engineer to lead platform development from the ground up. This is an early, high-impact role where you'll partner directly with executive leadership and help shape the architecture, engineering culture, and technical direction of the product.

What You'll Do

  • Partner closely with the CEO, CTO, and broader engineering team to prioritize and execute on the product roadmap.

  • Design, develop, and own complex features and software components end-to-end.

  • Deliver robust, scalable, and well-tested code across the full stack.

  • Establish engineering best practices that lay the foundation for a high-performing, growing technology team.

  • Collaborate with Design and Operations teams to continuously improve the product.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentor fellow engineers.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 8+ years of software development experience.

  • 3+ years of experience contributing to system design or architecture.

  • Strong full-stack proficiency: TypeScript/JavaScript on the frontend and Node.js on the backend. Candidates who are well-balanced full-stack or frontend-leaning are both a great fit.

  • Experience with React.

  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery; ability to architect, deploy, and operate scalable services in a cloud environment.

Strong pluses:

  • Experience modeling, querying, and optimizing MongoDB schemas for performance at scale.

  • Strong testing discipline across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams to define strategy, requirements, and deliverables.

  • Demonstrated track record of designing, architecting, and shipping scalable software systems.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $185,000 – $240,000 USD annually

  • Visa sponsorship is available.
