Staff Hardware Design Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary Job Description

• Responsible for the development of DRAM module and DRAM related application designs for leading-edge, high-performance server and embedded system applications.
• Drive hardware product life cycle development including architecture, detailed design, bring up, debug, Hardware Qualification, Release to Manufacturing, sustaining support and field failure support
• The job requires imaginative problem solving and ability to work independently and on multiple projects

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Familiarity with all phases of hardware product development which includes but not limited to:

• Own the end-to-end design of memory module — from architecture definition and component selection through schematic capture, PCB layout, SI/PI simulation, and design release.
• Lead board bring-up and debug activities for new hardware, including power delivery and signal integrity using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other lab instrumentation.
• Define and execute electrical validation and characterization process – including thermal and functional testing to ensure the new hardware meet the product requirement and with sufficient margin.
• Investigate BIOS/Testing logs to troubleshoot issues in partnership with test team.
• Identify areas of innovation in memory design and experience with invention disclosure and patent process.
