Staff Hardware Systems Design Engineer, Platforms Infrastructure
Summary
Designs board- and system-level hardware for ML/AI data center platforms at Google — defining architecture, leading bring-up, validation, NPI and deployment, and driving systems from concept through high-volume manufacturing — while collaborating with ASIC/FPGA, software, thermal, and manufacturing teams. Key technologies include PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB, and SPI.
As a Hardware Engineer in the board and system design team, you will work on ML/AI hardware systems projects to craft the solutions for current and future data center deployments. You will work with product teams to ensure that their goals are met with your systems. You will be responsible for collaborating with ASIC/FPGA, Software, and Verification teams to ensure proper verification of features in your systems. You will also work with the manufacturing teams to ensure that your designs are manufacturable and ready for volume production, and with the field teams to support systems that are deployed in the data center.
Our Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team designs and builds the
hardware and software technologies that power all of Google's services. Our computational challenges are complex and unique, enabled by cutting-edge custom hardware designed and made in-house. As a hardware engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You will see those systems from concept all the way through to high-volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers, affecting millions of Google users.
