Staff Harness Engineering Manager

You will set the technical direction for wire-harness architecture across high-speed, low-voltage, and high-power vehicle systems. You will establish design and quality standards, lead supplier and manufacturing strategy, oversee validation and releases, resolve electrical issues, and manage and mentor harness engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own wire-harness and subassembly architecture across the vehicle platform
• Set and enforce harness design standards, review processes, and DFM/DFA practices
• Lead make-or-buy and supplier strategy for harness manufacturing
• Conduct architecture trade studies covering topology, routing, connectors, EMI, and signal integrity
• Govern technical reviews, DVP&R, qualification testing, outsourced manufacturing, and release
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for escalated electrical issues
• Define automated harness-validation tooling and test strategy
• Mentor engineers and manage the harness engineering team
• Represent harness engineering in cross-functional and executive design reviews

Requirements

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of hardware development experience in automotive, aerospace, or another safety-critical industry
• Electrical harness design, architecture, and manufacturing expertise
• Experience setting design and quality standards and leading engineers or teams
• Root-cause analysis and troubleshooting experience
• Knowledge of IPC quality standards including IPC/WHMA-A-620
• CAN, Ethernet, and LIN implementation and on-vehicle debugging experience
• Supplier negotiation and external manufacturing-partnership management experience
• Technical documentation and leadership presentation skills
