Staff Inventory & Production Control Specialist

We are looking to add a Staff Inventory & Production Control Specialist to our team. If you are excited about working in a startup environment, have a strong work ethic, and are passionate about cutting-edge electronics, we would like to hear from you.
In this role, you will lead the accuracy, integrity, and traceability of inventory across the organization, guiding cycle counting, physical inventory, inventory reconciliation, and ERP inventory controls across multiple sites. This role requires up to 25% travel to support inventory accuracy activities across multiple sites. This role maintains ongoing cross-functional and outside contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult inventory issues associated with larger-scope initiatives, and partners with Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Finance, and Business Process & Information Systems (BPIS) to resolve significant discrepancies, drive root-cause analysis, and lead improvement of inventory processes. This position is performed without appreciable direction, exercises latitude in determining the objectives of inventory accuracy initiatives, and is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for results. This role does not have direct reports.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own inventory accuracy metrics and reporting across sites.
  • Lead the cycle count program, including ABC classification methodology and count scheduling.
  • Lead investigation of significant inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Monitor inventory health trends across sites and identify emerging risks to inventory integrity.
  • Plan and lead annual and periodic physical inventories across multiple sites, including freeze activities and count procedures.
  • Lead reconciliation of physical inventory results and prepare documentation for Finance and auditors.
  • Review inventory transaction history within the ERP system to investigate unusual adjustments and identify systemic issues.
  • Guide cross-site collaboration with Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Planning to resolve discrepancies.
  • Serve as a key business resource for inventory control processes within the ERP system (Acumatica preferred).
  • Monitor inventory transaction integrity standards and drive resolution of process deviations.
  • Develop and maintain inventory dashboards and KPI reporting for leadership.
  • Partner with BPIS on inventory-related system testing, upgrades, and automation enhancements.
  • Lead support for internal, external, and customer audits, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and government contract (FAR/DFARS) requirements.
  • Own lot, serial number, and inventory traceability documentation standards across sites.
  • Prepare and present inventory documentation to support financial audits and corrective actions.
  • Identify and lead opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and reduce inventory adjustments across sites.
  • Develop standardized inventory procedures and work instructions for use across sites.
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives affecting inventory processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8 years of inventory control or inventory accuracy experience in a manufacturing environment required with a Bachelor’s degree; equivalent experience considered.
  • Extensive functional experience in inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse operations, manufacturing, and planning.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems; Acumatica experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience using barcode and warehouse scanning systems.
  • Experience with inventory management and reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory reconciliation, transaction analysis, and inventory valuation concepts.
  • Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to identify inventory discrepancies and drive corrective action across sites.
  • Track record of developing sound solutions for larger-scope inventory initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and FAR/DFARS requirements in an inventory context.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to periodically access warehouse and production floor areas, including lifting/moving inventory materials up to 25–35 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support inventory accuracy activities across multiple sites.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in an aerospace, defense, or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading cycle count programs and physical inventories across multiple sites.
  • familiarity with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI.
