Staff Machine Learning Engineer Search
You will own the design, implementation, and production operation of intelligent search systems, including typeahead, vector search, and ML personalization. You will build scalable serving architectures for ML and GenAI models, evolve platform capabilities, and drive technical strategy. You will apply data security, privacy, governance, testing, CI/CD, and reliability practices to production data and ML systems. You will collaborate with engineering, data science, and analytics partners, set engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement intelligent search systems using typeahead, vector search, and ML personalization signals.
- Build and scale serving architectures for ML and GenAI/LLM models.
- Drive the design and evolution of ML and GenAI/LLM platform capabilities.
- Contribute to technical strategy and influence adoption of platform solutions.
- Apply data security, privacy, governance, and testing practices to data products.
- Own continuous integration and delivery for production data and ML systems.
- Set engineering standards and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant programming experience with languages such as Python or Java.
- 4+ years of experience designing scalable software architectures for ML, search, or LLM workloads.
- 2+ years of experience implementing vector search, semantic search, or embedding-based retrieval systems for production applications.
- 2+ years of experience building ML/AI platform components and frameworks.
- Experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, and Terraform.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience designing data pipelines for production ML and GenAI/LLM systems.
- Understanding of data structures, distributed systems, and software engineering principles.
- Experience with Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and familiarity with LLM frameworks.
- Experience with ML and GenAI/LLM platforms such as SageMaker, Bedrock, or Databricks.
