Staff Product Designer, Mobile & Web
Summary
Hands-on senior IC product designer at BIOS Life, a venture-backed startup building an AI-driven cancer care platform. You own UX/UI end-to-end for the patient-facing mobile app, web-based clinical and enterprise apps, and the marketing site, and build the company's design system in Figma.
About Bios Life
BIOS Life is a Boston-based, venture-backed healthcare technology company on a mission to fundamentally change how cancer is detected, monitored, and managed. We’re building a new model of proactive, personalized cancer care that combines advanced AI, real-world clinical data, and evidence-based medicine to help patients and clinicians make better decisions throughout the cancer journey.
Our platform brings together longitudinal patient data, predictive risk models, clinical decision support, and virtual care delivery to enable more personalized cancer screening, surveillance, and survivorship care. We’re building both the technology and clinical infrastructure to make this approach scalable, accessible, and integrated into patients’ lives.
We’re an early-stage company with an ambitious mission and a collaborative, multidisciplinary team spanning engineering, AI, clinical care, and operations. We’re looking for people who are excited to build something meaningful, solve complex problems, and help shape the future of cancer care.
About the Role
We're looking for an exceptional Staff Product Designer to shape the user experience across the BIOS Life product ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on our patient-facing mobile application.
You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, clinical experts, and AI teams to translate complex healthcare capabilities into intuitive, engaging, and beautifully crafted experiences. Beyond mobile, you'll design sophisticated web-based clinical and enterprise applications and contribute to our marketing website and other digital experiences as needed.
This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role, not a people-management position. You'll own design from concept through implementation, establish a high bar for usability and visual quality, and help define a consistent design language as our products evolve.
What You'll Do
-
Lead mobile product design: Own UX and UI design for our patient-facing application, translating personalized health risks, clinical insights, care plans, and recommendations into clear, actionable experiences.
-
Design across web and enterprise: Create intuitive interfaces for clinical workflows, embedded EHR applications, population health analytics, and enterprise dashboards.
-
Support digital marketing: Contribute to the design and evolution of the BIOS Life marketing website, landing pages, and related digital experiences, ensuring a cohesive brand and user experience.
-
Drive end-to-end execution: Take ideas from initial concepts and user flows through wireframes, interactive prototypes, and production-ready designs, iterating based on feedback and working software.
-
Collaborate closely with Engineering: Partner with product managers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders to balance user needs, technical constraints, and speed of delivery, ensuring high-quality implementation.
-
Build our design system: Establish and evolve reusable components, interaction patterns, and visual standards across mobile and web, with an emphasis on accessibility, consistency, and development efficiency.
What We're Looking For
-
A strong portfolio of shipped digital products demonstrating exceptional mobile UX, interaction design, and visual craftsmanship.
-
Significant experience as a senior product designer, with the ability to independently own complex design challenges from concept to launch.
-
Deep expertise in mobile navigation, information architecture, responsive design, and usability, complemented by experience designing complex web applications.
-
Excellent visual design skills, including typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and attention to detail.
-
Demonstrated ability to simplify complex information and workflows into intuitive, accessible experiences.
-
Advanced proficiency in Figma, interactive prototyping, component libraries, and design systems.
-
Strong understanding of modern frontend development and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers.
-
Excellent communication, judgment, and comfort working in a fast-moving environment where rapid iteration and pragmatic decisions are essential.
Nice to Have
-
Experience in healthcare, digital health, clinical software, or other complex, data-rich domains.
-
Experience with AI-powered products, conversational interfaces, or data visualization.
-
Familiarity with EHR workflows, clinical decision support, or patient engagement.
-
Experience designing consumer-facing marketing websites and digital brand experiences.
-
Familiarity with React, modern frontend frameworks, or AI-assisted design and development workflows.
-
Experience designing for accessibility and varying levels of health literacy.
Why BIOS Life
You'll help shape the user experience of an emerging healthcare platform at the intersection of AI, clinical intelligence, and personalized care.
You'll have meaningful design ownership, direct collaboration with Product and Engineering, and the opportunity to see your work quickly move from concept into real products used by patients and healthcare professionals.
We're looking for someone who loves designing and shipping exceptional products—and wants to make sophisticated healthcare technology genuinely useful and accessible.
