Staff Product Engineer
Summary
Leads engineering teams to set up, troubleshoot, and qualify semiconductor equipment, integrating mechanical, electrical, and optical modules while driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Setup, qualification, and troubleshooting of semiconductor equipment.
- Document engineering improvements, best practices, and lessons learned for future reference.
- Hands-on assembly and integration of mechanical, electrical, and optical modules.
- Perform wire harnessing, cable routing, and system integration activities.
- Develop procedures and work instructions for equipment assembly, inspection, qualification, and testing.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Software teams to optimize system design, performance, and reliability.
- Work with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve complex system, process, and production issues.
- Create test plans, qualification reports, progress updates, and engineering evaluation reports.
- Support parts verification, inventory coordination, packing, shipping, and material readiness activities.
- Plan and coordinate the release and transfer of new designs into manufacturing.
- Lead cross-functional teams involving Manufacturing, Quality, Process Engineering, Software Engineering, and Suppliers to drive successful project execution and issue resolution.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians on equipment setup, troubleshooting, and engineering best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, yield enhancement, quality improvement, cost reduction, and equipment performance.
- Lead equipment qualification, process validation, and new product introduction (NPI) activities to support manufacturing readiness.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in semiconductor equipment, automation systems, manufacturing engineering, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, equipment troubleshooting, inspection systems, and quality methodologies.
- Good understanding of electromechanical systems, automation equipment, and system integration.
- Proven experience leading engineering projects, problem-solving activities, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong team player with leadership capability.
- Willingness to travel overseas for customer support, equipment installation, qualification, and field service activities when required.
