Description

Company:

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

Job Area:

Operations Group, Operations Group > Product Management

General Summary:

The Staff Product Manager will drive end-to-end product strategy for Qualcomm's WBC division, spanning 5G NR/LTE modems, FWA platform chipsets, and next-generation broadband gateway solutions. This role sits at the intersection of chipset engineering, carrier ecosystem engagement, and platform software — owning the product vision from silicon architecture through commercial launch and lifecycle management. The ideal candidate brings deep cellular standards expertise, a proven record in FWA or broadband CPE product management, and the executive communication skills to influence key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cellular & FWA Product Strategy

  • Define and own multi-generation product roadmaps for 6G, 5G NR and LTE-based FWA chipsets, CPE platforms, and modem solutions.
  • Drive chipset capacity benchmarks and competitive positioning narratives across platform generations.
  • Develop business cases for next-generation cellular platforms.

2. Platform & Requirements Leadership

  • Translate carrier, OEM/ODM, and ecosystem requirements into detailed PRDs (Product Requirements Documents) and MRD (Market Requirements Documents) with KPI tracking.
  • Drive feature prioritization across cellular performance (throughput, coverage, latency), system cost, reliability, and deployment ease.
  • Define carrier-grade hardware requirements including multi-core CPU architectures, DDR, QoS, WAN, LAN and WLAN.
  • Partner with Engineering software teams to align platform software schedules with silicon releases
  • Champion integration of connectivity options for next-generation FWA solutions.

3. Wi-Fi & Connectivity Integration

  • Lead product strategy for Wi-Fi integration within FWA gateway platforms, including comparative performance positioning over prior generations.
  • Define router product concepts leveraging WBC platforms.
  • Ensure holistic platform roadmaps spanning modem, Wi-Fi 6/6E/7/8, BLE, mesh, IPv4/IPv6, QoS, SD-WAN, and security frameworks.

4. Cross-Functional Program Leadership

  • Act as primary interface between engineering, system architecture, customer engineering, business development, sales, operations, quality, and executive management.
  • Drive alignment of chipset silicon milestones, hardware schedules, carrier certification timelines, and go-to-market plans.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level strategy presentations to stakeholders; own 4-minute strategy narratives and marketing content.
  • Define and maintain the WBC Long-Term Priorities roadmap content covering FWA expansion, Wi-Fi transition, and emerging market dynamics.

5. Customer & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Engage directly with Tier-1 carriers, OEMs, ODMs, and strategic partners to validate roadmap and close design wins.
  • Own the FWA Support Model structure and externally-sharable partner-facing materials.
  • Represent Qualcomm at customer briefings, industry standards forums (3GPP, Wi-Fi Alliance, Broadband Forum), and technology workshops.

6. Competitive & Technology Intelligence

  • Continuously monitor ecosystem and synthesize insights into roadmap recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities in AI/ML-enabled network optimization, cloud-native software, and next-generation connectivity.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for cellular modem architectures, FWA platform design, and broadband software ecosystems.
