JTL is one of the leading e-commerce platforms in the German-speaking market. JTL Shop is how thousands of merchants sell online - deeply integrated with our ERP and carried by a strong ecosystem of service partners. As we build our next generation of cloud products, we are taking our shop platform into the cloud: modern, API-first, built for partners to extend. You own this journey end to end - from product definition and foundational platform decisions to a staged delivery plan toward partner beta and general availability.
What you'll do
- You own the product definition and target picture for the next generation of JTL Shop: what it is, who it serves first, and what makes it win. You start from the target picture, not from existing feature lists.
- You shape the foundational architecture and platform decisions together with Engineering - including how the new shop couples with our ERP and how far multishop and extensibility go in the first releases.
- You turn the concept into a prioritised, staged delivery plan toward partner beta and general availability: you decide what gets built, what is migrated, and what is deliberately deferred.
- You validate continuously with merchants and service partners and design the platform so partners can build, extend and earn on it - extensibility through modern APIs and apps is a core product decision, not an afterthought.
- You work embedded in our product team in the Selling area and closely with Engineering - from foundational architecture discussions to hands-on delivery, as one team.
- You align stakeholders up to C-level and represent the shop strategy internally and with partners.
- 7+ years as a Product Manager for e-commerce, online-shop or commerce-platform products - you have built or scaled a complex commerce product end-to-end, not just shipped features on one.
- You have owned a large, multi-year product build with real architectural stakes, and you have shaped platform-level decisions together with engineering.
- Deep online-shop domain expertise: checkout, catalog, pricing, integrations, and the ecosystem dynamics of shop platforms (partners, agencies, plugins).
- You develop a strong target picture and derive a realistic, staged path towards it, with the stakeholder strength to hold that line up to C-level.
- You use AI as a natural part of your craft, for market and competitor analysis, discovery synthesis and drafting, and you critically evaluate its output. You have a clear point of view on how AI is changing online shopping and what that means for a modern shop platform.
- German is a plus, not a must.
- Remote-first within Germany, with the option to work remotely from eligible countries for up to 180 days per year
