Staff Psychologist (MHPCC)

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Major duties include but not limited to: Mental Health Patient Care Center GS-13 Staff Psychologist: Diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy as well as behavioral health and community interventions. Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Spend approximately 100% of their time engaged in direct clinical services and providing recovery-oriented care to Veterans, assuring documentation is completed timely and within VA guidelines. Assist with other activities as assigned by supervisor. GS-12 Staff Psychologist: Diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy as well as behavioral health and community interventions. Consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Provides individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based and recovery-oriented approaches. Assists in developing, implementing, and updating individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
